Spruce Surprise Felt Alive Needle Felting Wool - Kettle Dyed in small batches here at Felt Alive. This wool comes out of the dye pot in variegated shades that range from medium to deep spruce green.

Felt Alive Needle Felting Wool is Kay's signature line of wool batting. It is a medium-fine, short-fibered wool that is easy to form into shapes and needle felts SUPER-FAST which makes it a great choice for sculptural needle felting.

Our wool comes from mixed-breed sheep raised on farms here in the United States. It has been minimally processed - scoured, picked and then carded into lofty batts and dyed in a rainbow of colors.

We dye most of our wool in small batches here at Felt Alive - the colors are slightly variegated and are different in every batch. These artisan colors are a perfect choice for those who love unique colors and surprises as the wool you receive will likely differ from the wool you see in the photos. If you enjoy the surprise of artisan dyed wool, our kettle-dyed wool is perfect for you!

For needle felters that are looking for very specific colors that are consistent with each batch, we offer a limited selection of commercially dyed Felt Alive Needle Felting Wool including True Redand Black. And especially for needle felted doll makers, don't miss our commercially dyed - Felt Alive Flesh Tones.

I wanted a rich, VERY dark green, and this wool is just right. Has great depth of color, and the feel of the batting is SO nice! I know it will work great on my projects. Nice to find a really great dark green!

Beautiful GREENISH shade.
When I bought this, I thought this would be closer to a navy blue color. Unfortunately it was a little too green for what I needed, which is my mistake. Even taking pictures of this myself, it just appears more blue digitally. So that's my mistake. The name of this describes it perfectly. It's a nice "Spruce Tree" color. Very beautiful, so I will be saving this for another project. So just in case anyone makes the same mistake I did, this is probably closer to a shade of green rather than blue.
