Thanks Kay! Your tutorial was amazing!!! You're such a great teacher. I'd follow your steps and then a few minutes later, I'd be amazed at what I had done....

Just have to post because I had such positive comments from the felted dogs I gave as gifts this Christmas. Thank you so much, Kay, for all you did to help me get started.
As a needle felted doll maker, finding wool batting in suitable skin tones has been challenging. That's why I'm so happy to offer my new Felt Alive Flesh Tones. We've been working with a commercial textile dyer and have developed four great colors of Felt Alive Needle Felting Wool that are perfect for doll makers.
I used all three of my new colors in these little guys. (l-r) Sun Beige, Sable & Peach Blush

From special sales in the shop to new Felt Alive workshops and celebrity caricatures, Felt Alive newsletters are random reminders of the fun there is to be had with sculptural needle felting.
Kay Petal picked up her first felting needle in 1997. Without any background in art, the craft of needle felting wool led Kay to discover a talent for 3d caricature art. Her celebrity caricature dolls have been seen on The Conan O'Brien Show and several magazines.
Having produced five full-length DVD workshops Kay has students all over the world, many of whom have gone on to become professional needle felt artists. She also designed and manufactures specialized, color-coded felting needles that she calls Super-Duper.
Kay is a lifelong Alaskan but most recently can be found working in her studio in the tiny town of O'Brien in southern Oregon. Visit www.feltalive.com to learn more.
